Visitors and locals experienced the hum of new and classic vintages this past weekend in wine country (April 26 -28) at the Annual Shelbyfest, near our Hermann Inn. The festival began in 2006 with just six men and their 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustangs, and has grown substantially year after year. The Shelbyfest weekend in Hermann marked its sixth-annual event, and although there were a few clouds on Friday, it didn’t keep the crowds – nor the enthusiasm – away from this Missouri Winery experience. The Friday night kick-off was simply moved indoors and attendees packed the house and ramped up for the weekend’s events. The morning clouds cleared and the day dawned with Hermann’s streets teeming with hundreds of gorgeous Mustangs. Neither guests of the nearby Hermann Inns nor local residents could deny that a stampede of Mustangs were “running wild” throughout the streets. A mid-day Moment of Horse Power was fueled to remember those who have passed. After an excitement-filled day of food and enjoyment of the Missouri Winery experience at the Shelbyfest 2012, attendees enjoyed a relaxing stay at one of the estimated 220 rooms provided by one of the comfortable and luxurious Hermann Inns.
Shelbyfest is a not-for-profit organization that utilizes its events to contribute to charitable causes through its “Horsepower with a Heart Foundation“.
