Hermann will celebrate its rural heritage at the Hermann Country Fair hosted at the Living History Farm. This year’s event will be on Saturday and Sunday, September 8-9, 2012, from 10am-4pm each day. It is sponsored by the Dierberg Educational Foundation.
This year the event will move from downtown to the Living History Farm on the east end of Hermann. In past years it was held at the Wagon Works and Stable on Gutenberg Street. There will be threshers, steam engines, farm animals, chickens, oxen, and draft horses.
See displays and demonstrations like soap making and blacksmithing, old time crafters, music, apple butter, country cooking and other rural life skills. Most events take place at the Wagon Works and Stable, as well at the Hofgarten and along Gutenberg Street. For information, please call 573-486-FARM. There are so many things to do in Hermann, but the Country Fair is one of our favorites! So come join the fun!

The living history farm sounds like a great option for guests of all ages. I would love to see a blacksmith workshop as well as apple butter making. It would be immensely entertaining to also take in the sounds of music from the era, real cool. My name is Marc, and aside from my love of travel and live music of all ages, I also work for Bescover — where we love all things B&B! It’s truly a privilege being a part of your online community.
Marc,
Thank you for sharing your support! The blacksmith will make appearance at our country fair on 9/8-9, see more information on the website http://www.hermannfarm.com/Events/UpcomingEvents/default.asp, hope you can make it.
