October 19-20, 2014 – Artists of Wine Country Art Walks and Talks
Saturday and Sunday, October 18-19. Saturday, 10:00 to 5:00; Sunday 11:00 to 4:00. Meet award-winning artists, see their work and hear their stories. Free event.

 

November 15-16, 2014 – Holiday Fare Wine Trail

Hermannhof will tempt your taste buds, while Dierberg Star Lane pleases your pallet with a festive food and wine pairing $30.00 per person – Advance purchase required. Ticket price includes a souvenir wine glass. Limited tickets are available. Contact the Hermann Welcome Center, 800-932-8687, for more information.

 

November 29, 2014 – Hermann’s Lantern Parade

Hermann officially kicks off the Christmas season with a Lantern Parade through downtown, starting and ending at the Amphitheater. In Germany, the traditional Festival of Lanterns celebrates the generosity and compassion of Martin of Tours, a German knight who gave half his coat to a beggar. Christmas carols and refreshments after the parade. All ages welcome.

 

December 6-7, 2014 – Historic Hermann’s Museum at the Germann School and German School Bakery

Once-a-year German bake sale features traditional holiday baked items. Enjoy music and mulled cider. Tours of the newly renovated museum rooms are $5 for adults, $3 for students, free for children 5 and under. Free admission to bakery and gift shop. Sponsored by Historic Hermann.

 

December 6-7, 2014 – Deutschheim Weihnachtfest

Experience a 19th-century German Christmas celebration at Deutschheim State Historic Site. Sample traditional German Christmas cookies as you learn about German Christmas customs.

 

December 6-7, 2014 – 22nd Annual Kristkindl Markt

A traditional German Christmas market. Crafts, Christmas goodies, carolers, hot soup & mulled wine. Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

 

December 6, 2014 – Holiday House Tours

Tour Hermann homes decked out for the holidays. Purchase tickets ($10/person) at the Welcome Center, 312 Market Street. Refreshments included. Sponsored by the Hermann Area Chamber of Commerce.

 

December 6-7, 2014 – St. George Rectory Tour

From wine cellar to attic, the historic Franciscan friary at St. George Catholic Church on West Fourth Street sparkles with lavish holiday displays, including nearly 100 themed Christmas trees. Freewill offering.

 

December 6-7, 2014 – Christmas Tablescapes

The historic Rotunda Building in the city Park sparkles with elaborate Christmas table displays. Warm cider and Christmas carols add to the festivities. Group tours available by appointment. $5 admission. Sponsored by the Gasconade County Historical Society.

 

December 13-14, 2014 – Say Cheese Wine Trail
